About Artwork: (ca. 1885) "This painting was voted one of the three best pictures in the Prize Fund Exhibition held in New York in 1885 by the American Art Association. Gifford was awarded a $2,500 cash prize and the painting was given to the Museum. It was later included among several works by the artist at the Exposition Universelle in Paris.
