View all questions

How long will my painting take?

Most paintings require approximately 4–6 weeks for the artist to complete. Larger, more complex or highly detailed paintings may need additional time.

Approval, drying, framing, packaging and shipping also affect the delivery date. Production timelines are estimates unless specifically agreed to in writing.

Will I see my painting before it ships?

Yes. We send a photo of the completed artwork for your review and approval before shipment. This is your opportunity to request reasonable modifications that are consistent with your original order.

Once you approve the painting, it moves into final preparation, which may include drying, varnishing, stretching, framing, packaging and shipping.

Can you paint from my own photograph?

Yes. You can commission an oil painting from a reference photo. Please provide a clear, high-quality image that you own or have permission to use.

Your painting will be an artistic interpretation of the photograph. We may contact you if the image is unclear, low resolution, cropped, poorly lit or otherwise unsuitable.

What framing options are available?

You can choose the available framing options on your painting’s product page. Framed options come ready to hang and include canvas stretching, protective varnish, a custom frame, a finished back and hanging hardware.

Frame color and finish may vary slightly with lighting, screen settings and material availability. Please contact us if you need help choosing.

Can I cancel or return my painting?

Cancellation eligibility depends on the stage of production. A full cancellation refund is usually available only before work begins; after work starts, a partial refund may be offered at our discretion based on costs incurred.

We do not accept standard returns after approval and delivery. Shipping damage, manufacturing error or a confirmed material difference from the approved order may be considered separately.

If you do not approve the painting after good-faith modification efforts, you may request a refund before shipment. Please read the full policies for the conditions that apply.

What if my painting arrives damaged?

Please contact us as soon as possible with clear photos of the damage, the full painting, the packaging and the shipping label.

Keep all packaging until the claim is resolved, as the carrier may require an inspection. Depending on the situation, we may offer a repair, replacement, remake, partial refund or another appropriate solution.

Are the paintings hand painted or printed?

Every painting is individually hand painted using oil paints on canvas. The finished painting is not a print or machine reproduction.

Brushwork, texture and natural artistic variation are part of each made-to-order work.

Is a masterpiece replica an original artwork?

No. A museum masterpiece replica is a hand-painted recreation inspired by the original work. It is not an original by the named master artist or an authorized museum product.

Replicas are not sold with the original work’s provenance, signatures or certificates of authenticity. We may decline requests where rights or licensing restrictions apply.

What makes a good reference photograph?

Choose a clear, high-quality image with good lighting and a well-defined subject. Low-resolution, heavily cropped, unclear or poorly lit images can limit the detail available to the artist.

You must own the image or have permission to use it. Our team may contact you if the submitted photo needs clarification or a replacement.

Will my painting look exactly like the reference?

Each painting is made by hand, so some variation in brushwork, texture, color, lighting, proportions and detail is expected. A photo-based painting is an artistic interpretation; a masterpiece replica is a hand-painted recreation.

We work carefully to capture the subject, mood and composition, but an exact photographic copy is not guaranteed.

Can I request changes to the background or other details?

Please include your special instructions when ordering, or send them to us in writing. You may request preferences such as background or color changes, clothing adjustments, or adding or removing elements.

We will do our best to follow clearly provided instructions. A courtesy consultation does not replace the written order details.

When is payment required?

Full payment is required before production begins unless otherwise agreed in writing.

The price depends on the painting’s size, complexity, selected options and customization. Changes outside the original order scope may incur additional charges.

Can I change my order after placing it?

Contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate changes before production begins.

Once materials have been prepared or painting has started, changes may not be possible or may require additional fees. Changes to size, subject, reference photo, style, framing or shipping details can also affect the timeline.

Can my painting arrive by a particular date?

Please contact us before ordering if you have a specific date in mind. Production and delivery windows are estimates and are not guaranteed unless specifically agreed to in writing.

Complexity, revisions, customer response time, drying, framing and carrier delays can affect the schedule.

Can I request changes to my painting?

Reasonable modifications can be requested during the approval stage, before shipment. These may include refinements to color, lighting, background, facial details or small composition elements that are consistent with the original order.

Major changes—such as a new reference photo, additional subjects or a different composition—may require extra time or charges.

What if I don’t approve the final painting?

During approval, we will work with you in good faith on reasonable modifications.

If those efforts do not resolve your concerns and you still do not approve the painting, you may request a refund before it is shipped. Once approved and shipped, the painting is no longer eligible for a refund due to artistic preference.

What does giving final approval mean?

Final approval confirms that you accept the painting and that it is ready for shipment. Please review the approval photo carefully before agreeing.

Once the painting is approved and shipped, it is no longer eligible for a refund, cancellation or additional free modifications based on artistic preference.

Do framing and finishing affect the timeline?

They can. Stretching, framing, varnish drying and packaging are part of final preparation and may affect the estimated delivery window.

These services are completed for your specific painting and are not separately returnable after approval.

How long does shipping take?

Transit time varies by destination, painting size, framing selection and carrier service. Please contact us if you need guidance for your destination.

Large or framed paintings may require special packaging. Accessories, frames or related items may sometimes travel in separate packages.

What happens if I cancel after work has started?

Once sketching, material preparation or painting has begun, a full cancellation refund may no longer be available. A partial refund may be offered at our discretion, taking into account completed work, materials and production costs.

After a painting is completed or sent for approval, it cannot be cancelled as a standard cancellation request. The separate pre-shipment approval and refund policy still applies.

What if the delivered painting differs from my approved order?

Returns may be considered for shipping damage, manufacturing error or a confirmed issue that differs materially from the approved order. Please contact us promptly so we can review the concern.

Standard returns are not accepted for approved custom paintings after delivery. Artistic preference, minor variation and a change of mind after approval are not grounds for a refund.

Why might the colors look different from my screen?

Screen brightness and settings, photography lighting and varnish sheen can affect how colors appear. Canvas preparation, stretching and framing may also result in minor size variations.

Reasonable color and size variation is part of handmade artwork and is not considered a defect.

Can I keep my finished painting out of your public gallery?

Please notify us in writing before your order is completed if you prefer that your commissioned painting not be used publicly.

You retain ownership of your original submitted photos. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, we retain rights to photographs of the finished artwork and may use them for our portfolio or promotional purposes.
